Supported Platforms and System Requirements for ITM / Endpoint DLP

This topic lists the system requirements and supported Windows and Mac platforms for the Proofpoint Information and Cloud Security Platform ITM product.

Windows Agent Supported Platforms

The following are supported for deploying and updating the Proofpoint ITM Agent. These are also supported for updating the Agent with Auto Updater.

Shift Japanese Industrial Standards (Shift JIS) is supported from version 3.2.0. This provides character encoding for the Japanese language for Windows.

  • Windows 11 (64-bit)

    • Windows 11 OS Build 22621.819 is not supported before Windows Agent 2.4.

    • Windows 11 23H2 upgrade from version 3.3.0.x

  • Microsoft supported versions of Windows 10

  • Windows Server 2022 (64-bit only)

  • Windows Server 2019 (64-bit only)

  • Windows Server 2016 (64-bit only)

Windows Agent 1.9.1.8. is the last version to support Windows 8.1. Later versions do not support Windows 8.1, and fixes will not be implemented on version 1.9.1.8.

The following Web browsers are supported:

(only 64 bit is supported)

  • Google Chrome

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer

  • Microsoft Edge for Windows

  • Mozilla Firefox

From Agent 4.0

The following Chromium-based browsers were also certified:

  • Island
  • Opera
  • Brave

Support was added for monitoring user activity during browsing, upload, and sending text prompt to GenAI websites.

Windows System Requirements

  • Processor: Intel i3 or higher or AMD equivalent

    For best performance results Intel i5 or higher or AMD equivalent is recommended.

  • Physical RAM: at least 8 GB RAM with at least 2 GB available for Agent activity

  • At least 5 GB free hard disk space

  • Network Adapter: 100 Mb/1Gb Ethernet adapter (1 Gigabit link speed recommended)

  • For MIP Label to be extracted during file activity, MS Office must be installed on the endpoint.

Mac Agent Supported Platforms

You can deploy and update the Proofpoint Agent on the following Mac-based desktop, laptop or server:

  • macOS Sonoma (R14) - from version 3.2

  • macOS Ventura (R13) - from version 2.4

  • macOS Monterey (R12)

    The following are no longer supported: 
    macOS Big Sur (R11) - last supported in version 3.1
    macOS Catalina (R10) - last supported in version 2.6

From version 1.4.0.17, macOS  Mojave 10.14 is no longer supported.

If you are working on a shared/mirrored display running macOS Monterey 12.0 and not viewing the expected notifications, check the Notification Center settings on your Mac and verify that the When mirroring or sharing the display setting is checked.
