Scanning Multiple SaaS Applications with the Same Azure Sidecar
If you have multiple SaaS accounts that use the same Azure sidecar, DSPM can perform parallel Cloud Scans on these accounts. A Cloud Scan is run when the account is onboarded and can also be triggered manually at any time.
These parallel scans can only be run if you have provisioned sufficient compute to support parallel scanning.
- DSPM currently utilizes a maximum of 100 vCPUs (i.e., Consumption Cores) in a single Azure container application environment for scanning a single SaaS application.
- To scan more applications in parallel, this limit needs to be increased by vCPU*100 per application.
- For example, to enable scanning of two applications in parallel, you must increase the limit from 100 vCPUs to 200 vCPUs.
The following steps explain how to create an Azure support request to increase the container Apps Quota.
- In the Azure portal, select “Select + Support” from the upper-left ‘hamburger’ drop-down menu.
- Click the “Create Support Request” link in the upper-middle part of the panel.
- In the text box for “Tell us about the issue…”, type “increase containerapp vcpu quota”. Choose “Container Apps” when prompted for “Which service are you having an issue with?” and press “Next”.
- When prompted for the Subscription, choose the subscription with ID.
- When prompted for Resource, try to select the “normalyze-scanner-env” option under the
normalyze-***resource group and press “Next”. If you are able to do this, skip to step 11. - If the desired resource group is not seen in the drop-down, choose the last option, “General question” under the “General question / Resource not found” section and press “Next”.
- When asked, “Are you having one of the following issues?” choose the “Container Apps” option and press “Next”.
- Once you are directed to the “Service and Subscription Limits (Quota)” panel, press the “Create a support request” button.
- In the “New support request” > “Problem description” choose - What is your issue related to? “Azure services” - Issue type: “Service and subscription limits (quotas)” - Subscription: the subscription with ID. Quota type: “Container apps” and press “Next”.
- In the “Additional details” panel, click the “Enter details” link and in the “Quota details” right-side panel:
- Enter: - Quota type: “Managed Environment Consumption Cores” - Managed Enviornment:
resourceGroups/normalyze-***/managedEnvironments/normalyze-scanner-env. New limit: 200 or more. - Provide your preferred contact information under the “Support method” section and press “Save and continue”.
- Enter: - Quota type: “Managed Environment Consumption Cores” - Managed Enviornment:
- Confirm the details on the “Review + create” page and then press “Create” to submit the new support request.
