Configuration | Internal Domains
Define and manage internal domains associated with your organization in the Internal Domains section.
By default, internal domains are periodically synced into this section automatically from your connected cloud services. These often referred to ‘Managed Domains’, which are domains your service considers as associated with your organization and uses when determining internal share policies.
Some customers have additional domains that should be trusted across their organization that are not automatically synchronizing into this section. In order for CASB to recognize additional domains as being internal, you can add them to the CASB app’s General Settings > Configurations section.
All items in this section, whether added via and automatic sync or manually, are recognized and applied across the system as “internal domains.”
Examples of why CASB customers use internal domains:
-
Sharing level calculation – if the target collaborator’s domain is in the internal domains list, the sharing considered as internal
-
Forwarding mailbox rules – determine if a forwarding rule is external based in the recipient email domain
For each domain listed in this section, the Source that provided the domain is also shown (i.e., the cloud service that synchronized the domain or Manual.)
Use the Internal Domains configuration controls to perform two main administration tasks:
-
Disable or enable the automatic internal domains sync
-
Manually add, edit, and remove domains
Switch Sync Mode
By default, this section is set to Sync Mode: Automatic and that is how items in the initial list are populated. You can change the sync mode to “manual” to edit or delete the list of internal domains.
-
Click the Sync Mode drop down menu
-
Select the desired sync mode (Automatic or Manual)
-
A pop up confirmation window will display.
-
Confirm to continue with the change.
When in Automatic sync mode, you can:
-
Export to CSV
If you disable Automatic sync mode, new domains must be manually added.
When in Manual sync mode, you can:
-
Add a Domain
-
Add from CSV
-
Edit a Domain
-
Delete a Domain
-
Export to CSV
If you are in Manual mode and revert back to Automatic sync mode, please be aware that deleted domains may re-synchronize and edits to domains may be overwritten. Domains that you manually added, however, will remain on the list.
